Chinese Association for Research and Advancement of Chinese Medicine
(CRACM)
CRACM is a nationwide, industry-specific academic organization that was officially established on 1989, and is under the professional supervision of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
CRACM mission:
“To promote the inheritance, innovation, and development of TCM through research, and to serve the public.”
CRACM business scope:
TCM theoretical research, policy discussion, academic exchange, professional training, awards and commendations, popular science education, information consulting, technical services (technology transfer), and international cooperation and exchange.
CRACM members:
Key leaders and renowned experts from various TCM research institutes, TCM colleges, TCM hospitals, integrated TCM and Western medicine hospitals, and TCM enterprises, relevant government department heads in charge of the Chinese medicine industry along with individuals from all walks of life who are enthusiastic about supporting and caring for the development of TCM.
CRACM commitment:
Building a positive, professional, and pragmatic academic and cultural exchange platform, enabling the efficacy of TCM to benefit more people, promoting and inheriting TCM culture better throughout China and the world, and targeting the modernization and technological advancement of TCM industry.
CRACM provides expert and technical support to support the development of departments in local hospitals. The association strives for breakthroughs in promoting tiered medical services and multi-site practice policies for physicians, establishing a working mechanism of primary care at the grassroots level, two-way referral, separation of acute and chronic care, and coordinated treatment between different levels of healthcare institutions. It has undertaken projects such as formulating standards for integrated medical and elderly care under the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, researching and experimenting on planting and breeding models for Chinese medicinal herbs through cooperatives, participating in the national survey of Chinese medicinal resources.
